International Service encompasses actions taken to expand Rotary's humanitarian reach around the globe and to promote world understanding and peace.

Some of the on-going projects Sunrise Rotary has participated in:

Polio Eradication

All Rotarians worldwide are united in a campaign for the global eradication of polio.  In the 1980's Rotarians raised US$240 million to immunize the childreen of the world; by 2005 the PolioPlus program has contributed US$500 million to this cause.  In addition, Rotary has provided an army of volunteers to promote and assist at national immunization days in polio-endemic countries around the world.  In 2002 our Wine and Turkey fundraiser raised about $10,000 toward Rotary International's Polio Eradication Campaign.

Future Light Orphanage, Cambodia

For more than three years Sunrise Rotary has helped support the Future Light Orphange outside of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia.  We also founded an email foster parent program which supports and educates 50 of the 200 orphans at the Orphange.

The Rotary Club of Honolulu Sunrise and the Rotary Club of Niigata Bandai in Japan established a friendship club relationship that has allowed our two clubs to develop a strong personal and cultural relationship with each other.
