Vocational Fact Sheet: Declaration of Rotarians in Businesses & Professions”

RCHS will be featuring a vocational fact sheet each month.  This month’s fact sheet is the Declaration of Rotarians in Businesses and Professions.  Adopted in 1989 by the Council on Legislation, the Declaration of Rotarians in Businesses and Professions can be used together with the Four-Way test, in defining the high ethical standards called for from a Rotarian in conducting their business and professional activities. 165 Bundles of Joy

December 19, 2011 ~ Thanks to coordination by Nancy Walden, donations of gift wrap and ribbons from Courtney Sibley’s mom, and boxes and boxes of food and toiletries from club members, Honolulu Sunrisers packed 165 gift boxes for needy adults at the Next Step Shelter. Every box was accompanied by a hand-written Christmas card. Many hands make light work. Mahalo to Christine Lanning, Courtney and Aiden Sibley, Nadine Ferraro, Ciera Young, Brandy Yeh, Anna and Ian Archibald and Grace Schnetzler. The boxes were delivered by Sunrisers in time for a party at the shelter on December 23rd. Merry Christmas to all.

Update on Rotary Flood Relief

Rotary International District 3350 led by DG Supong, IPDG Suchada, District Secretary Duangta and Rotarians reached out to flood victims in Nonthaburi & Pathum Thani provinces with portable compact toilets, bottled drinking water, dry foods and other life support necessities on Sun Oct 30, 2011. PP Suphin provided a container trailer to transfer food and materials to hard-to-reach spots. The Royal Thai Army Development Command graciously provided army personnel, army trucks and boats to facilitate distribution to residents who choose to live in their houses submerged in flood water as high as two metres. On the first Wednesday and Thursday afternoon of every month a couple of Honolulu Sunrisers head to Lincoln Elementary to read to students after school. This month, Joe Ferraro and Allen Kamemoto read to some of these kids with big smiles. Mahalo Allen and Joe, and to Jerry and John for setting up this rewarding program! Meet President Elect Sakuji Tanaka

We have an incredible opportunity to welcome Rotary International President Elect Sakuji Tanaka as he stops briefly in Hawaii.  DGE Chet Dal Santo will host a luncheon on Saturday, January 17th from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm at the Academy of the Pacific.
